Woman sues Ohio County Assessor candidate for breach of contract

Contract 10

WHEELING – A woman is suing a candidate for Ohio County Assessor after she claims the woman failed to pay rent owed.

On Aug. 10, April Luv signed a lease with Ann Ream for the occupancy of 35 Clinton Drive in Triadelphia, according to a complaint filed on Nov. 18 in Ohio Magistrate Court and then removed to Ohio Circuit Court on April 13.

Ann E. Ream claims Luv agreed to pay $400 per month in rent with the first month being due on Sept. 10 and on that day, Luv was unable to pay the rent and signed a promissory note agreeing to borrow $650 from Ream for a fee of $65 and interest charges for non-payment.

Prior to the end of September, Luv vacated the property and failed to notify Ream of the move, failed to pay the rent owed on the property and failed to pay the loan secured by the signed promissory note, according to the suit.

Ream claims Luv also removed a 55-inch Sony TV from the premises that belonged to Ream.

Ream is seeking judgment against Luv in the amount of $1,115 with interest. She is also seeking the return of the television. She is being represented by Elgine McArdle of McArdle Law Offices.
