Bank takes car buyer to court

Contract 03

HUNTINGTON — A financial services company is suing Michael K. Perry, claiming he has failed to repay a debt.

United Bank Inc. filed a complaint on April 20 in Cabell Circuit Court against Michael K. Perry, alleging that the debtor did not settle the balance from the loan he secured for a 2014 Kia Forte LX automobile.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 14, 2014, the defendant secured a motor vehicle loan. After a while, the plaintiff acquired the vehicle back and sold it. After selling the automobile, the plaintiff deducted that amount and the payments it received from the defendant from the total amount owed, and $8,733.01 remains unsettled, the suit says. The plaintiff holds Perry responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to settle the balance to the plaintiff..

The plaintiff seeks the sum of $$8,733.01; post-judgment interest at the statutory rate on the principal balance; and costs of $200 for the filing fee and $25 for service fees. It is represented by James B. Atkins, Paul S. Atkins and Bree Whipp Ogle of Atkins & Ogle Law Offices, LC in Buffalo.
