Law money 07

BECKLEY — A couple's lawsuit against Home Building and Remodeling Services LLC alleges breach of duty and negligence.

Tony Gibson and Michelle Gibson filed a complaint on June 2 in Raleigh Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the company failed to comply with remodeling standards.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they have suffered damages and will be forced to repair the defendant's defective work at a cost estimated to be in excess of $13,126,63 and will continue to suffer annoyance and inconvenience. The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible because it allegedly negligently and defectively worked on the plaintiffs' house. Said defective work includes complaints about no ridge vents, eave vents, improper installation of an eave edge cap, loose seams and improper installation of a gutter and downspout.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages, for annoyance and inconvenience, court costs, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and for such other damages as the court and jury deem just and equitable. They are represented by Clyde A. Smith of Roop & Smith Law Office PLLC in Beckley.
