Man says satellite company wrote, called improperly

CHARLESTON — A consumer is suing Hughes Network Systems LLC, d/b/a Hughes Network Systems LLC of Delaware, a satellite company, citing alleged invasion of privacy.

Clint Holt filed a complaint on June 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the satellite company violated the West Virginia Computer Crime and Abuse Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has been damaged as a result of the defendant's unlawful collection practices. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly continued to repeatedly contact him, both by phone and mail, despite having knowledge that he is being represented by a lawyer.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for actual damages, statutory damages, attorney's fees and costs and such other relief as the court may deem proper. He is represented by Arden J. Curry II of Pauly Curry PLLC in Charleston.
