RIPLEY — A business owner is suing Benjamin Perry and Toni Perry, husband and wife, citing alleged misrepresentation.
Joseph Ryan Blackhurst d/b/a Bee Haven Supply LLC filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in Jackson Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they have conspired to do irreparable damage to the plaintiff's business.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 22, defendant and business co-owner Benjamin Perry demanded a buyout of the 50 percent share of Bee Haven Supply owned by the plaintiff. Since that time, Benjamin Perry allegedly took control of the business's social media and business email accounts. Due to the defendants' false claims, the plaintiff's business suffered irreparable damages, the suit alleges. The plaintiff holds Benjamin Perry and Toni Perry responsible because Benjamin Perry allegedly made libelous and slandering comments about the plaintiff on Facebook and is falsely representing that the Perrys now own Bee Haven Supply.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an injunction prohibiting the defendants from continuing to claim that they are the owners of the Bee Haven Supply, Bee Haven's Facebook and email accounts be returned or permanently deactivated, an order for defendant to cease using the logo of Bee Haven Supply, compensatory damages amounting to $32,000 and any other relief as the court may see fit and just.
