CHARLESTON — A disabled Kanawha County man is suing a communications provider, alleging he was discriminated against because of a disability.

Ronald Davis filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court Southern Division of West Virginia Charleston Division against Universal Cable Holdings Inc., doing business as Suddenlink Communications and James Kizer, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of defendant's unlawful discrimination, Davis has suffered damages, including lost wages and benefits, physical and emotional pain, annoyance and inconvenience. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide reasonable accommodations and terminated his employment July 11, 2014, based on disability or perceived disability.

Davis seeks trial by jury, compensation for all damages, reinstatement or front pay, attorney fees and court costs, plus all other relief. He is represented by attorneys Stephen P. New and Amanda J. Taylor of The Law Office of Stephen P. New in Beckley.
