POINT PLEASANT — An Ohio couple is suing a Point Pleasant hospital, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries for the wife.

Mary Saxon and William Saxon of Bidwell, Ohio, filed a lawsuit Sept. 16 in Mason Circuit Court against Pleasant Valley Hospital Inc,. alleging failure to provide a safe and secured environment.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 25, Mary Saxon, who is obese, was obeying a staff order to move over on an MRI table. The suit says she fell completely off the table, violently landing on her head, shoulder and arms.

As a result, the lawsuit states, Saxon sustained medical expenses and emotional distress from the pain and suffering of broken bones in her arm, a black eye and a contusion to her forehead. The plaintiffs allege Pleasant Valley Hospital failed to provide medical assistance or proper staff and when the defendant's staff repeatedly instructed Saxon to move over.

William Saxon alleges loss of consortium and loss of enjoyment of life.

The Saxons seek trial by jury, damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, attorney fees, court costs and expenses and all other relief. They are represented by attorneys Brian J. Headley and Jason S. Ballard of Headley Law LLC in Peterstown.
