NEW CUMBERLAND — A Chester homeowner is suing Ohio contractors, alleging they owe up to $600,000 for breach of contract and negligence.

Joy E. Quinones filed a complaint Dec. 28 in Hancock Circuit Court against Canon Construction of Stow, Ohio, Rick Krapinski and Todd Dewald, alleging they violated the West Virginia Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of defendants' actions at her home, 545 Florida Ave., Chester, Quinones suffered loss of enjoyment of her home and life, anxiety and emotional distress. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed and refused to complete their work on her home and/or return the money paid to them.

Quinones seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, for breach of contract for $200,000, punitive damages of $400,000, costs of court, attorney fees, and pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by attorney Lawrence L. Mannypenny of Lawrence Mannypenny Law Office in New Cumberland.
