Two adult males accuse learning center operators of negligence

CHARLESTON — Two adult males are suing learning center operators, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent emotional injuries.

L.B. and T.V., individuals proceeding under assumed names filed a complaint Jan. 27 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Seventh-Day Adventist Church, North American Division Inc., et al, alleging failure to provide adequate training and supervision to those individuals having access to children.

According to the complaint, while under the defendants' care, the plaintiffs were maltreated causing them to suffer physical, sexual and emotional abuse and/ or neglect and were denied necessary medical care and treatment. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendants totally disregarded the plaintiffs' health and safety, failed to provide a safe and healthy environment free from abuse and failed to adequately staff its facilities in order to manage the safety and well-being of plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, compensatory, punitive and consequential damages, pre-judgment interest, attorney fees and court costs, plus all proper relief.
