GRAFTON — A Grafton property owner is suing a power company, alleging trespassing.
Woodbridge Stout filed a complaint March 10 in Taylor Circuit Court against the Monongahela Power Company, alleging the defendant proposed the construction of a new power station without acquiring a right of way on Stout's Grafton property.
According to the complaint, Stout's cattle are in danger of being injured, killed and/or damaged during construction of a new power extension unless the power company is restrained by the court. Also, the suit says, Stout will suffer damages to his property.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant contemplates bringing in heavy-duty equipment on Stout's real estate.
Stout seeks trial by jury, an injunction prohibiting the defendant from constructing a new power station on the plaintiff's real estate and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney LaVerne Sweeney of Grafton.
