WHEELING — A Wheeling couple is suing Lowe's Home Center, alleging its negligence led to injuries to the wife.

Jacqueline H. Neer and Wilbur C. Neer filed a complaint March 20, in the Ohio Circuit Court against Lowe's Home Center LLC and Plat Essentials Inc., alleging they breached their duty to provide a safe place to shop.

According to the complaint, on April 19, 2016, Jacqueline Neer was at the Lowe's store in Wheeling to shop for flowers. The suit says an employee of Plant Essentials negligently hit her with a shelf unit he was pushing.

The lawsuit says Neer sustained injuries that resulted in physical pain and mental anguish, loss of enjoyment and medical expenses. The suit alleges Wilbur Neer suffered loss of society and companionship of his wife.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to exercise ordinary care to keep and maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition.

The Neers seek trial by jury, damages up to $75,000, interest, costs of court and all other proper relief. They are represented by attorney Kelly R. Reed of Law Offices of Kelly R. Reed PLLC in Morgantown.
