Customer blames Kroger for injuries

HINTON — A Summers County woman is suing Kroger, alleging the store's negligence caused her to suffer injuries. 

Angela Cooper filed a complaint March 30 in Summers Circuit Court against Kroger Limited Partnership I and KRGP Inc.,alleging they failed to ensure their premises was safe for the general public.

According to the complaint, on April 7, 2015, Cooper was shopping at the Kroger store in Hinton. As she was leaving the store, the suit says, she slipped and fell on accumulated water on the floor. 

The suit says Cooper sustained injuries that are permanent in nature and accrued medical bills of more than $8,000. The plaintiff alleges the defendants' employees negligently allowed the accumulation of water on the floor and failed to contact a medical professional to assist Cooper in caring for her injuries.

Cooper seeks trial by jury, damages to be determined by jury, plus attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Christopher M. Davis of Wooton, Davis, Hussell & Ellis PLLC in Beckley.
