HUNTINGTON — A Wayne County man is suing a Huntington medical center, alleging its negligence led to the plaintiff requiring a partial finger amputation.
Larry Lewis filed a complaint April 28 in Cabell Circuit Court against St. Mary's Medical Center Inc. and John/Jane Doe, alleging they failed to provide appropriate medical care and treatment.
According to the complaint, when Lewis was a patient at the defendants' facility in 2015, he received injuries to his left ring and middle fingers on his left hand, which resulted in the amputation of the tip of his left ring finger. Lewis says he will continue to suffer disfigurement, medical expenses and lost wages.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly observe and discover Lewis' hand injury and to diagnose and treat the problem.
Lewis seeks trial by jury, all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit, attorney fees and all other relief. He is represented by attorney D. Geoffrey Varney of Huntington.
