A couple sues West Virginia corporation over alleged negligence

Car accident 06

BECKLEY — A Raleigh County couple is suing a local cemetery, alleging negligence caused them injuries.

Richard Brewer and Hazel Brewer filed a complaint May 22 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Inc., alleging failure to provide proper traffic control.

According to the complaint, on May 24, 2015, the Brewers were injured in a vehicle crash in front of the cemetery, leading to serious physical injuries that led to medical expenses of more than $21,000. The suit says both plaintiffs suffered emotional distress and a diminished capacity to enjoy life.

The plaintiffs allege Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens failed to properly control the traffic during the Memorial Day weekend.

The Brewers seek trial by jury and judgment justified by the evidence. They are represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore, PLLC in Fayetteville.
