HUNTINGTON — A Barboursville woman is suing a truck owner and driver, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Donna Wellman filed a complaint May 24 in Cabell Circuit Court against Allied Waste Services of North America LLC and Jeremy C. Lovejoy, alleging Allied Waste negligently entrusted its truck to a careless driver.

According to the complaint, on May 29, 2015, Wellman was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Millard Preston on state Route 2 in Huntington. The suit says Lovejoy, carelessly operating a truck owned by Allied Waste Services, caused it to collide with the motorcycle.

Wellman says she suffered bodily injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, mental anguish and lost wages. The plaintiff alleges Lovejoy failed to maintain proper control of the truck he was driving.

Wellman seeks trial by jury, fair compensation for the plaintiff's damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and attorney fees and all other appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Steven M. Bragg of The Law Office of Steven M. Bragg in Barboursville.
