Nationwide sues Liberty Transportation over water damage from refrigerator
An insurance company has filed suit over an incorrectly installed refrigerator that caused considerable water damage to an insured party's home. Nationwide Property & Casualty Insurance Company filed a lawsuit on Aug. 14 in Ohio County Circuit Court in West Virginia against Liberty Transportation, Inc. for the costs of water damage incurred after a refrigerator was installed incorrectly.
Wheeling woman fired after short-term disability leave sues ex-employer
WHEELING – An employee who took an extended leave of absence on short-term disability has filed suit after she wasn't reinstated upon returning to work.Edna J. Tullius of Wheeling sued former employer Silgan Plastics Corp. on Aug.11 after she was let go upon returning from short-term disability leave.

HUNTINGTON – A Putnam County funeral home operator allegedly filed almost $1 million in false insurance claims by claiming more than 100 people were dead, according to a federal lawsuit. AG's Eastern Panhandle office to help with free credit reports
MARTINSBURG – The West Virginia Attorney General Office’s Consumer Protection Division’s Eastern Panhandle Office has started assisting consumers in obtaining free credit reports every Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. Residents can visit the office, located at 269 Aikens Center in Martinsburg, for the assistance. “One of the best ways for consumers to ensure that they have not become an identity theft victim is to run an annual credit check,” Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said in a statement.
