CLAY - A Clay County woman alleges that the General Motors car she bought was defective and she experienced several problems with the vehicle.

Danita Mullins filed a suit May 8 in Clay Circuit Court against General Motors LLC, citing problems with the quality of the workmanship of the vehicle. The plantiff alleges that shortly after she bought a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze from C&O Chevrolet in St. Albans, W. Va., for $25,457.48 on or about Aug. 1, 2013, the vehicle had repeated problems and had to be taken into the dealership on five separate occasions.

Mullins alleges that the problems with the car are “a direct and proximate result of the defects in the vehicle …  due to GM’s poor workmanship and craftsmanship.” She also said the defects were a safety hazard.

Mullins is asking the defendants to refund the purchase price, including all applicable sales tax, license fees, registration fees and other reasonable expenses while she owned the vehicle. As well as, cost of repairs, loss of use, annoyance and inconvenience and expenses for replacement transportation and reasonable attorney fees.

The plaintiff is represented by John N. Ellem of the Ellem Law Office of Parkersburg.

Clay County Circuit Court case number 15-C-18.
