Man says he found broken machine parts in hamburger at Sonic

Mercer

PRINCETON - A Mercer County man is suing after he allegedly found broken machine pieces in his sandwich.

Ricky Marquez filed a lawsuit Nov. 1 in the Mercer County Circuit Court against White's Restaurant LLC, doing business as Sonic Drive In, Chris White and Charlotte White.

On Nov. 4, 2011, Marquez says he purchased a hamburger from the Sonic in Princeton. According to the complaint, the hamburger contained pieces of sharp broken glass or broken hard plastic.

After showing the hamburger to the store manager, the plaintiff was informed the pieces came from a broken food preparation device, the complaint states. Marquez is alleging the restaurant negligently served him a hamburger that was not properly prepared.

Marquez is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney Jerome J. McFadden.
