CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County couple is suing over claims the wife sustained injuries after receiving negligent care while in a West Virginia hospital.
Samantha Anderson and Brian Anderson filed a lawsuit on Jan. 8 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Dr. Mark Allen Plunkett and West Virginia University Board of Governors, citing negligence.
Samantha Anderson claims she was admitted to the United Hospital Center in West Virginia and placed under the care of Plunkett. The suit alleges the defendant failed to recognize signs of complications after Anderson's surgery, resulting in Anderson's medical condition to deteriorate, requiring more surgeries.
The Andersons are seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional amount, interest and court costs. They are being represented in the case by attorney Julie N. Garvin of Garvin Law PLLC.
