Mason Co. man accuses Kimes Steel of negligence

POINT PLEASANT -- A Mason County couple are suing over claims the husband sustained injuries as a result of an unsafe work environment.


Jefferey Russell and Anita Russell filed a lawsuit on Feb. 4 in Mason Circuit Court against Kimes Steel Inc., doing business as Kimes Steel and Rail Inc., citing negligence.

The plaintiff says on May 3, Jefferey Russell suffered serious injuries while using a table saw at 2 George St. in New Haven. According to the brief, the defendant's negligence in safety and task training caused severe and permanent damage to Jefferey Russell's left hand, causing deep lacerations of his palm, middle finger and thumb.

The Russells are seeking damages, interest, attorney fees and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Charleston attorney Brent K. Kesner of Kesner and Kesner PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David W. Nibert.
