Putnam company says it wasn't paid for coal transfer

Contract

WINFIELD -- A Putnam County company is suing over claims it was not paid for coal transfer services.

Appalachian Transfer LLC filed a lawsuit Feb. 25 in Putnam Circuit Court against E&I Holdings LLC.

According to the complaint, around April 11, Appalachian Transfer did work for E&I Holdings, hauling coal at an agreed upon price of about $41,376. Appalachian says it has received only $33,792, and it has unsuccessfully attempted to collect the remainder.

Appalachian is seeking the remainder of the fee plus court costs. It is being represented in the case by attorney Justin D. Pritt. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
