Company says construction firm owes more than $250,000

Contract

CHARLESTON -- An equipment rental company has filed suit after a customer refused to pay their bill.

Rudd Equipment Co. filed suit in U.S. District Court Charleston Division on Feb. 24. They are suing Hi-Tech Construction Co. Inc. over an allegedly outstanding debt.

Rudd says, between May 3, 2012, and May 14, 2012, Rudd and Hi-Tech entered into five different equipment rental agreements. Hi-Tech rented certain pieces of heavy machinery used in construction projects.

Hi-Tech was apparently supposed to pay for the actual rental of the equipment plus any money Rudd had to expend to repair equipment after it was returned.

In addition to the rentals, Hi-Tech apparently also had Rudd do some maintenance or repairs on other pieces of equipment and ordered some parts from Rudd. Rudd now claims Hi-Tech has a balance of over $250,000 from the rentals and the repair, but they won't pay.

Rudd is seeking $281,065.58 in damages. It is being represented by attorney Clevenger Price.
