BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County man is suing a corporation, claiming harassment.

Michael S. Bragg filed a lawsuit Feb. 12 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Onemain Financial Inc., citing violations of Consumer Credit and Protection Act, Computer Crime and Abuse Act and Telephone Harassment Statute, as well as infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

Bragg claims he received multiple phone calls from the defendant in order to annoy and harass him into paying debts owed the defendant. According to the claim, the defendant tried to collect the debts due in ways which are in direct violation of several laws put into place in the state of West Virginia.

Bragg is seeking damages, attorney's fees and court costs.

He is being represented by Fayetteville attorneys Ralph C. Young, Christopher B. Frost, Steven R. Broadwater Jr. and Jed R. Nolan of Hamilton, Burgess, Young and Pollard PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John A. Hutchison.
