Woman claims she got sick from eating at Red Lobster

Redlobster

CHARLESTON -- A Crawford couple is suing after the wife ate at a local restaurant and became seriously ill.

Rebecca Boatwright and Charles Boatwright filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 in Kanawha Circuit Court against GMRI Inc., doing business as Red Lobster, citing negligence and negligence per se.

The complaint states on March 4, 2012, the plaintiffs were at the Red Lobster at 101 Cross Terrace Blvd., Charleston. Rebecca Boatwright chose a lobster from the tank for her meal, according to the complaint.

The plaintiffs contend Red Lobster served Rebecca a tainted lobster, causing her to become violently ill, requiring hospitalization.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $25,000.

They are being represented by Erika Klie Kolenich and Christina J. Rumbach of Klie Law Offices. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
