Rental company says coal company owes nearly $19K

Contract

BECKLEY -- A rental equipment company is suing a coal company over past due bills.

Leslie Equipment Company filed a lawsuit March 10 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Greenfields Coal Company L.L.C., citing failure to pay for services.

The lawsuit states Greenfields applied for credit with Leslie Equipment on April 18, 2011, to rent equipment, receive service and purchase parts. Greenfields has rented and purchased parts to a total amount of $18,811.05, which it has failed and/or refused to pay, the complaint states.

Leslie Equipment wants the court to award a judgment against Greenfields for $18,811.05, plus pre-judgment interest at 18 percent, post-judgment interest, collection costs and court costs.

It is being represented by Jason S. Hammond of Bailey & Wyant P.L.L.C. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside.
