Man blames chemical companies for father's death

MOUNDSVILLE -- A son is suing a host of chemical companies after his father died of leukemia.


Mark Ady, as administrator of the estate of Glenn R. Ady, filed a lawsuit March 20 in Marshall Circuit Court against Shell Chemical LP, Tauber Oil Company, Tenneco Inc., Exxon Mobil Corp., Valero Energy Corp., BP Amoco Chemical Co., Sunoco Inc., Ashland Inc., Axiall Corp., Momentive Speciality Chemicals Inc. and Celanese Corp., citing wrongful death.

The lawsuit states Glenn Ady worked in the chemical industry from 1957 until 1994 and died July 8, 2012, from acute myelogenous leukemia resulting from exposure to benzene and formaldehyde.

Mark Ady is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and any other fair relief.

He is being represented by Hartley & OBrien P.L.L.C. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Mark A. Karl.
