WINFIELD -- A Winfield resident is suing after becoming engulfed in flames while working for Airgas.
William Lee Parrigan filed a lawsuit March 24 in Putnam Circuit Court against Airgas USA LLC, citing deliberate intent and failure to provide reasonably safe workplace.
The complaint states Parrigan was employed by Airgas when he became engulfed in flames while bleeding out acetylene gas cylinders on May 13. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was aware the unsafe practice presented a high degree of risk and the practice was a violation of law.
The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
Parrigan is being represented by Richard Holtzapfel and David Holtzapfel of Holtzapfel Law Offices PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
