CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County man is suing after being injured in a car accident, claiming negligence.
Tommy L. Pennington filed a lawsuit April 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court against the Estate of Ricky Huffman Jr. by Kanawha County Sheriff and Administrator, citing negligence.
Pennington claims he was traveling north on the public highway in Kanawha County when Huffman crashed into Pennington's vehicle. According to the claim, Huffman recklessly crossed the center line of the highway, causing the accident which killed Huffman and injured Pennington.
Pennington is seeking damages, attorney's fees, interest and court costs.
He is being represented by Charleston attorney Paul S. Perfater of Myers and Perfater. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer F. Bailey.
