CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha company is being sued after allegedly failing to pay a former employee's final wages.

Linda Hill filed a lawsuit May 7 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Appalachian Eyes LLC, citing the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, Hill worked for the defendant from June 1, 2009, until her termination Feb. 6, 2014. Since her termination, the defendant has failed to pay Hill her final paycheck, violating the West Virginia Payment and Collection Act, the suit states.

Hill is seeking damages in an amount equal to the lost wages, plus costs.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys J. Michael Ranson and Cynthia M. Ranson of Ranson Law Offices and G. Patrick Jacobs of Jacobs Law Office. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
