Leadership W.Va. announces October leadership conference

CHARLESTON – Leadership West Virginia has announced a “Moving West Virginia Forward: Reclaiming Our State” Leadership Conference will be held Oct. 15–16 at the Erickson Alumni Center on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown.

The conference is open to the public.

“The conference will give participants a detailed look at West Virginia’s best practices for growth and will also address the challenges the state faces in the areas of health, education and economic development,” said Pam Farris, executive director of Leadership West Virginia.

WVU President Gordon Gee will be the conference keynote speaker. Other featured speakers include: Gat Caperton, Caperton Furniture Works; Gary Hartley, Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve; Beri Fox, Marble King; Kyle Mork, Energy Corporation of America (ECA); Helen Matheny, Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute at WVU; Charles Hageboeck, City Holding Company; Wheeling Mayor Andy McKenzie and others.

In addition, Leadership West Virginia will honor a Distinguished Alumnus at the opening conference reception Oct. 15.

The conference is sponsored by Auge & Gray Collective Works, Generation WV, the WVU College of Business & Economics and Babst Calland.
