Raleigh Co. couple says Ford F-450 is a lemon

Lemonlaw

BECKLEY – A Raleigh County couple is suing over claims they purchased a new Ford vehicle that turned out to be faulty.

William and Virginia Lawson filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Ford Motor Company, citing the Lemon Law.

According to the complaint, the Lawsons purchased a new Ford F-450 Crew Cab from an authorized dealer Sept. 17, 2010, for which they paid $68,588 plus sales tax and license and registration fees. The Lawsons say they experienced nonconformities with the new vehicle warranty, which are thought to perhaps be life threatening and which impaired the use of the vehicle.

After repeated attempts to make the vehicle conform to the warranty, the manufacturer has failed to do so, according to the lawsuit.

The Lawsons seek the refund of the purchase price, damages for costs of repairs and loss of use, including costs incurred for replacement transportation, and attorney fees.

They are represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Fayetteville.
