Woman says animal shelter didn't pay her $4,000 in wages

HUNTINGTON – A Cabell County woman is suing over claims her former employer has failed to pay her more than $4,000 in wages.

Sofia Cartusciello filed a lawsuit Oct. 14 in Cabell Circuit Court against Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter.

According to the complaint, Cartusciello worked for the defendant from September 2013 until December 2013, during which time she received only one payment of wages. Cartusciello says the defendant owes her $4,340. Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter is accused of violating the West Virginia Code by failing to pay Cartusciello.

Cartusciello seeks the wages owed, treble damages and attorney fees.

She is represented by attorney Hoyt Glazer of Klein, Sheridan & Glazer in Huntington.
