WHEELING – An Ohio man is suing over claims he was injured while walking on a Wheeling city street.
Joshua A. Vetanze filed a lawsuit Dec. 23 in Ohio Circuit Court against the Wheeling Water Department and the city of Wheeling.
According to the complaint, Vetanze was walking on sidewalk in Wheeling on Dec. 30, 2012, when snow and ice on the sidewalk forced him to step onto the roadway where he stepped into a hole of uncovered piping and sustained injuries. The defendants are accused of negligence.
Vetanze seeks damages, medical expenses, interest and attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys William C. Brewer and J. Brandon Shumaker of Brewer and Giggenbach in Morgantown. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James Mazzone.
