CHARLESTON – Peggy L. Schultz of Peggy Schultz & Associates LLP in Charleston has been elected to the officer position of Assistant Secretary for the Association of the Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA) during the 74th ADTA Annual Meeting in Ponte Vedra, Fla.
Schultz has served as the Executive Director of the organization since 2006.
The ADTA invites as members lawyers who are "proven and recognized successful professionals possessing the highest skill level of a defense trial attorney in civil cases." The association encompasses the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, and The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Its purpose is to promote quality networking and outstanding educational programs, which improve the trial skills of its members. Founded as the Association of Insurance Attorneys in 1941, it has established itself as one of the premier defense trial attorney organizations in the legal profession.
Schultz also serves as the Executive Director of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia (DTCWV). DTCWV is the Voice of the Defense Bar in West Virginia.
