Standalone art for 3/12 issue: Third House fun

CHARLESTON -- As the Legislative session neared its end, members of the media covering the Capitol gathered March 5 for the annual Third House show at the Cultural Center.

The event, a fundraiser for the Marshall University School of Journalism and Mass Communication, is a chance for lawmakers to laugh at themselves as members of the media poke a little fun at them.

This year's skits included a take on the state's "Open for Business" motto sung to the BTO classic "Taking Care of Business," jabs at Gov. Joe Manchin, House Speaker Rick Thompson and the cockroach problem at the Capitol cafeteria.

This year: no one was immune. They poked fun at the governor, the new speaker of the house, even the cockroach problem at the cafeteria. Third House raises money for Marshall University's School of Journalism.
