Michael S. Garrison was named April 13 as president-elect of West Virginia University, effective July 1 at a press conference in Morganton as his family watches. Garrison, who officiall will become the 22nd president of WVU on Sept. 21, is the managing member of the Morgantown office of Spilman Thomas & Battle.
