CHARLESTON - A Putnam County man filed a suit against Logan Corporation claiming he was unlawfully fired from his job.

James P. Schiffman filed the suit Jan. 24 against Logan Corporation. He says he was fired on Dec. 27, 2006, after he spoke out at a meeting about the improper, unethical conduct occurring by the defendant.

The suit states that during the time of his employment, Schiffman consistently performed his duties in a satisfactory manner and met the reasonable expectation of the defendant.

Schiffman seeks punitive damages, court fees and further relief the court deems appropriate. He demands a trial by jury.

Shiffman is being represented by attorney Mark A. Atkinson, and the case has been assigned to Judge Charles King.
