* In April 2005, Layne was shopping at Sears when she allegedly tripped and fell over a two-inch platform that was used to display vacuum cleaners. As a result, Layne claims she suffered injuries to her legs and knees. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Kimberly Butcher v. Allied Waste Services of North America Inc., Donald Morgan and Tom Rowsey
PA-Ashley Lockwood; J-John L. Cummings
* Butcher was an employee of Allied Waste from November 2000 until August 2006. She claims her manager, Donald Morgan, repeatedly and unrelentingly subjected her to sexual harassment. The suit claims Morgan made numerous explicit sexual references and touched her inappropriately. Butcher's supervisor, Tom Rowsey, allegedly encouraged her not to make a report. She is suing for negligence and sexual harassment under the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
