Woman sues after slipping on wet floor at Kroger

WHEELING - An Ohio County woman says a grocery chain and a cleaning company employee are responsible for injuries she sustained after slipping at the store.

Mary Dean filed a suit April 16 in Ohio Circuit Court against Kroger Co. and Herbert Klotz of K&K Cleaning. According to Dean, she fell while in Kroger and was injured.

The suit says that on May 13, 2006, Dean entered the Kroger on Mt. DeChantal Road and fell on a wet floor. Dean claims she suffered serious personal injury and will require medical treatment.

The suit says Kroger hired Klotz to clean, and he negligently let the water puddle on the floor.

Mary Dean, though attorney Ronald Kasserman, seeks compensatory damages and court costs.

The case has been assigned to Judge Ronald Wilson.
