* Kirby and Janet Jones filed a suit against DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise, where Kirby Jones worked as a Lucite Area Operator. While unloading a barge one day Jones was severely injured. He seeks lost wages and benefits.

* Billy Skiles filed a suit on behalf of his mother, Barbara Skiles, who died while in the care of Oakridge Center. Billy Skiles claims his mother fell several times while at the nursing home, because of the negligent treatment from the employees. He claims the care and treatment his mother received violated the normal standard of care. Skiles seeks compensatory and punitive damages for his mother's estate.

Bryan W. Smith v. Union Public Service District, a West Virginia Public Utility, Earl Burks, William Carter

* Bryan Smith filed a suit against Union Public Service District, claiming he was mistreated because he is African-American, and that he was fired because he filed for workers' compensation. Smith claims he was forced to listen to racial remarks directed toward him and perform menial tasks of manual labor, such as mowing grass and painting. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Amy Hively v. Elizabeth Lacy

* Amy Hively filed a suit against Elizabeth Lacy, claiming Lacy bit her when Hively tried to get a gun out of her hands. Hively claims Lacy was under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs and started firing a gun in her house. When Hively went to take the gun, Lacy bit her, damaging her left thumb tendon. Lacy had to have surgery to repair the tendon. She seeks compensatory damages.
