HUNTINGTON - A Cabell County woman has filed a suit against the local transportation system, claiming she was injured when she got off one of the buses.
Margaret Traylor filed a suit Oct. 12 in Cabell Circuit Court, against Tri-State Transit Authority and the City of Huntington.
According to the suit, Traylor rode TTA bus to an area close to her home Oct. 12, 2005. As she exited the bus at the corner of Cypress Street and Charleston Avenue, she stepped into a hole and was "violently thrown to the ground," the suit says.
Traylor claims she was injured.
According to the suit, Traylor claims the TTA owed her a duty to let her exit their vehicles at an area that is safe.
The suit also names Donald Taylor as a defendant. Traylor claiming Taylor owed her a duty to maintain his property.
In the five-count suit, Traylor seeks compensation for her damages at the legal maximum allowed by law.
Attorney Robert M. Losey is representing Traylor. The case has been assigned to Judge John L. Cummings.
