Charleston woman sues after she fell entering health center

CHARELSTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a local family health center, claiming she was injured when she fell on the facility's entrance ramp.

Ruth Ann Perdue of Charleston filed a suit Nov. 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court, against Integrated Health Care Professionals, Inc., doing business as HealthPlus Family Health Center, located in Cross Lanes.

According to the suit, Perdue was entering the facility Nov. 6, 2005, when she slipped "on an abundance of loose gravel located at the entrance ramp to the facility."

Perdue fell and was injured, suffering bruises and contusions.

According to the suit, HealthPlus failed to provide handrails on the ramp and keep the entrance free of debris.

Perdue claims she incurred substantial medical bills, suffered diminished capacity to enjoy life, has serious and permanent injury and has been exposed to serious mental anguish, pain and suffering.

Perdue is representing herself. The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey Walker.
