CHARLESTON - A court reporter claims a retired Wood County judge sexually assaulted her and other women in the office.
Karen Holub filed a suit Jan. 7 in Kanawha Circuit Court against former Circuit Court Judge George Hill and the state Supreme Court of Appeals.
Holub claims Hill, a former Wood County judge, "regularly observed explicit pornographic sexual materials on the computer supplied for his use by the Supreme Court."
She said Hill also would regularly touch her and other females in the office during work hours.
The suit says Holub expressed how uncomfortable Hill was making her to a management representative of the Supreme Court, but no action was taken to correct the situation, which continued.
Holub claims she and others complained to Hill and representatives of the Supreme Court that they objected to Hill's creation of a sexually hostile work environment as well as his abuse of government property and resources for accessing and viewing pornography.
Holub, who is representing herself, seeks damages mental and emotional distress, punitive damages, legal interest and injunctive relief.
Hill retired in February 2006. His seat was vacant for 10 months before it was filled by former state delegate J.D. Beane.
The case has been assigned to Judge James Stucky.
