CHARLESTON - An asbestos lawsuit was filed against a national railroad company on behalf of a man who died from injuries he allegedly sustained while working for the company.
Beverly K. Bryson filed the suit April 24 in Kanawha Circuit Court on behalf of the estate of Larry G. Bryson. The suit is against CSX Transportation.
Larry Bryson was an employee of CSX when he was allegedly exposed to toxic and harmful dusts. Due to his exposure, Bryson contracted lung cancer, the suit says.
According to the suit, Bryson was unaware he was suffering with lung cancer for three years.
The suit says CSX failed to provide Bryson with a safe working environment, which includes proper safety equipment and training, as well as failed to test fumes, dusts and other products with which employees regularly worked.
Beverly Bryson seeks compensatory damages to cover the estate of Larry Bryson.
Attorney James A. McKowen is representing Bryson. The case will be assigned to a visiting judge.
