* Vaughn went to Dr. Weinsweig for a procedure to re-explore his left L3-4 lumbar for microdiskectomy using a microsurgical technique. After the surgery, Vaughn experienced bilateral foot weakness, decreased sensation around his perineum, persistent numbness and weakness in his legs and bowel and bladder incontinence that he alleges were not present before the surgery. He is suing the physician for injuries suffered as a result of negligence.

William L. Mundy v. Service Net Solutions Inc. d/b/a Phillips Priority Service Monitor Outlet Inc. and Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

* Mundy purchased a new Pioneer plasma screen television in March of 2005. Along with the TV, the plaintiff purchased an insurance policy from Service Net Solutions. Mundy claims that a crack developed in the screen cover within six months of the purchase through no fault of his own. The defendants have refused to fix the television or provide the plaintiff with a new one. The plaintiff claims he was sold a defective product and is suing for breech of implied warranty and breech of insurance policy.

Jane Doe v. University Physicians and Surgeons Inc.

* The plaintiff, a patient of University Psychiatric Associates, claims that information pertaining to UPA mental health patients began being published outside of UPA on May 28 when University Physicians and Surgeons made the information available on its computer network, thus enabling other clinical departments to have access to mental health patient records. Published material includes schedule of appointments, mental health diagnosis, medication prescribed and reports of lab work. The plaintiff claims the information being published is confidential and is suing for her costs and attorney fees as well as monetary relief as the court deems just and proper.
