Walker begins running TV ads

Walker

CHARLESTON - State Supreme Court candidate Beth Walker released the first two television ads of her campaign Thursday.

They highlight her commitment to traditional West Virginia family values, her belief in God and her tough-on-crime approach to the West Virginia Supreme Court, she said.

"I believe the Second Amendment is written in ink, not in pencil, and no West Virginia court should dare tread on those rights," she said in one ad. "Believe."

That ad and another titled "Always" will begin to air statewide Thursday.

"As we continue to spread our message statewide, these ads highlight my commitment to traditional West Virginia values and my belief that our judges should be tough on crime," she said in a statement.

Walker is a candidate for Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. There are two seats on the Supreme Court up for election in 2008. Both seats carry 12-year terms.

Other candidates include Democrats Margaret Workman and Menis Ketchum. Walker is a Republican.
