Donald Stacy and Belinda Stacy v. Krauts Creek Corporation dba Spring Valley Country Club

* Donald and Belinda Stacy were playing golf at the Spring Valley Country Club in September 2006 and were using the club's golf carts to move about the course. After teeing off on the first hole, Donald drove the cart down the path and applied the brakes. The suit claims the cart fishtailed, flipped and landed on top of Donald while Belinda was ejected. The couple is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Major C. Myers v. James Flynn

* Myers was driving a truck owned by the Huntington Housing Authority on Fourth Avenue in Huntington when Flynn allegedly turned onto Fifteenth Street in front of Myers. The suit claims this caused him to collide with a parked vehicle. Myers is seeking damages in the amount of $22,523.69.

Henry F. Maynard Sr. and Emma M. Maynard v. Appalachian Power Company dba American Electric Power

* Maynard claims AEP was negligent in the 1991 installation and inspection of his 200-amp service. In August 2008, an aluminum service conductor servicing Maynard's home allegedly broke, resulting in a surge of 240 volts of electricity into his home. According to the suit, the surge destroyed several appliances including a television, refrigerators, a computer and ceiling fans. Maynard is seeking compensatory damages.

Scott C. Kiser v. Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation

* Cabot Oil operated a gas well that caused an access road to collect water, according to the suit. Kiser claims he was riding his motorcycle on the road when he attempted to stop because of deer in the road. He claims he was unable to do so because of the standing water in the road and as a result, crashed his motorcycle. He is seeking compensatory damages.
