HUNTINGTON – A construction worker claims another man attacked him at a job site and caused him to lose an eye.
Stephen Cashion is sued Matt Wooten in Cabell Circuit Court on Feb. 25 over the alleged attack, which Cashion said was unprovoked.
According to his complaint, Cashion says he was working on a construction project at 12 Wildwood Oaks in Ona when Wooten suddenly assaulted him and struck him in the head and face with a concrete pin.
Cashion claims the injuries were so severe he had to have his left eye removed. He says he's suffered severe emotion, physical and mental distress and has experienced great ridicule, annoyance and inconvenience.
Cashion says in his complaint that he's been unable to transact business and hasn't been able to earn wages. He estimates this loss at $30,000. He adds that he's accumulated $50,000 in medical expenses and will incur future expenses.
He's seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as pre- and post-judgment interest and court costs.
Cashion is representing himself in court. The case is before Cabell Circuit Judge David Pancake.
