Woman suing over fall at N.J. casino

CHARLESTON – A woman is suing both the Atlantic City casino and the locally-operated tour group that took her there after she fell in the casino's bathroom.

Kaye Townsend filed a lawsuit May 22 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Casino Connections LLC and Adamar of New Jersey, doing business as Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Townsend claims she went on a Casino Connections-coordinated trip to the Tropicana on May 26, 2007.

While at the casino, Townsend claims she fell in the bathroom, which was in "obvious need of repair."

Townsend claims she broke her left ankle and suffered a knee injury as a result of the fall. She says her injuries are permanent.

She blames the defendants for failing to provide a safe and secure environment for patrons.

She's seeking compensatory damages.

Brian Casto is representing the plaintiff. The case is before Kanawha Circuit Judge Irene Berger.
