* Betty Hewitt seeks a wrongful death claim on behalf of the estate of her mother, Ethel Hewitt, claiming Golden Livingcenter failed to provide the proper nursing home care during Hewitt's stay. Negligent care resulted in her mother suffering bedsores that were left untreated and became infected, gangrene, urinary tract infections that were untreated and developed into urosepsis, dehydration, sepsis that caused her mother to develop septic shock, malnutrition, and poor hygiene conditions that included Ethel Hewitt sitting in her own urine ad feces, conditions which ultimately caused her death. The estate seeks compensatory, general and special damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, and pre- and post-judgment interest.

John N. Herod II v. Smola Construction and Cassandra Bird

* Cassandra Bird hired Smola Construction to build temporary stairs while her house was under construction. Herod, who was hired to install ceramic tile, fell through the stairs when they became dislodged causing him to fall ten feet to the ground. As a result of the fall, he suffered severe injuries to his right foot and right lower extremities. He is seeking compensatory and special damages, past, present and future pain, pre- and post-judgment interest; attorney fees and costs.
